Students poured out of the doors, quickly leaving desks and chairs empty and askew. A pencil rolled off the desk behind her as its previous occupant vacated the room. Rio waited for everyone to leave before she did, too. It was just easier that way. Less noise, less pulsating heartbeats, less pungeant, but delicious scents around her.
Rio didn't think she had a problem. As a carnivore, it was her nature to eat meat and to deny her of that, just because she had to coexist, was selfish of whoever made that law in the first place. Rio huffed, gathering her things from her desk, taking care to not let her pencil fall. She fixed her skirt as she stood up, straightened her gris-gris, gathered up her things and moved toward the door as the between-period noise began to die down in the hallway.
She looked back over her shoulder at their professor, a Mountain Goat, pick up his suitcase from the desk and begin to follow her out. Rio swallowed, pretending to not notice, and pretending that her mouth didn't water as her professor's scent got closer and closer. She hurried towards the door, coming into contact with something -- rather, someone just as she was about to clear the room.
"Oh, dear! Careful now," her professor remarked, slipping past Rio and the student she bumped into.
"Gods, I'm so sorry!" Rio backed off, now getting a good look at the one she had almost mowed over.

It wasn't rare for the ever so ever important Cherryton Academy to let students check out their College Division regardless of their situations- and for Lincoln, for the first time, he was not the exception. The young hybrid bobbed his ears as he walked around the group, a small pack of rowdy carnivores and mismatched hybrids stuck between the crowd. He glanced around the hallways, picking out the few around them who seemed to scurry away at their sight. Lincoln glanced between his group and then back towards the Cherryton's students, rubbing his arm tenderly for a couple of seconds before his expression seemed to pop back into his usual cheery self.
Cherryton Academy smelled different. Perhaps it was the food they ate or the different way they seemed to walk. Lincoln's ears perked up slightly towards the door. Couldn't be... He tilted his head side to side, breaking away from his back of misguided youths to a certain Mountain Goat's class. Just a step inside and then BAM! There was the person he was watching right in front of him, nearly barreling into him before looking down to say sorry. Lincoln blinked. He rubbed his eyes with his fingers then slowly stood back up to meet eye-level...well shin level? "It's quite alright there miss. You seem in a hurry? Has this class ended?" A small affable grin stretched across his face. The air seemed to thicken with a peculiar scent...one that Lincoln was sure that no one in Cherryton was all too familiar with, but the students of Leftstone knew all too well.
Silently, he glanced from his group and then back over at the wolf before him. "I'm from the group visiting from Leftstone...we're a bit of a rowdy bunch, but everyone has a good heart really...really...really deep down. However, they like to say things as they see it, so do be careful miss." With a slight bow of his head, he tried to walk away from the situation, creating ocean spans between them like a kid playing pretend in a park. Lincoln let the water rush in between the hallways, filling his mind up to the brim...well, it was all pretend to begin with.
One would think the awkwardness, the heightened alarm, and the suddenness of the whole thing would distract a wolf from such mouth-watering aromas. No. Unfortunately not. Once a predator, always a predator. No matter how embarrassed.
Rio's eyes followed after her professor, following his ambling footsteps down the hall with the twitch of her ears. Blue eyes fixated on the student in front of her, and she backed off a few steps so she wasn't so close to him.
She studied his featured - mixed up, like he was a bowl of meat and peas. Rabbit and fox. Meat stuck out in places, though the peas made up the most of him. Fluffy angorian fur stuck out from underneath his clothing, the collar of his shirt. She almost wanted to reach out and bite him touch him.
Ignoring his mixed up scent for the moment, she tried to focus on the small conversation he attempted to make with her... though he was being very cryptic.
She understood that some had not very nice things to say about her - especially about how she wound up in this school in the first place. Despite that, Rio tried to be an all-around nice wolf and put her predatory instincts at the back of her mind (even though they were always at the forefront anyway). She quirked her head at him as he left her with a clue, but not an answer and walked away.
"What do you mean by that?" she called after him, taking a few steps toward him.

Lincoln could almost flinch, a terrifying premonition that was all to obvious to the small hybrid. I know my scent is mixed up, but calm down! He rubbed the back of his head sighing a bit before rolling his fingers back. "You look like you're going through meat withdrawals or maybe you're just hungry. Either or...It'll kill your reputations with herbivores, get you kicked out of school, you might even get placed as a predatory offender. If my classmates see that, they're going to make a big deal about it and you might get in trouble. Other carnivores are sensitive to that, and hybrids...well our senses are much better than most understand." Lincoln looked away slightly, then back at the wolf...or was it a dog? Maybe there was something wrong with the chimera's nose today.
"They're good kids...probably....and maybe they have hearts somewhere....really really...really far down...no wait, probably even farther than that..." Without a singular trace, the hybrid's mind seemed to fly off into the distance- fluttering through the air as he seemed to blank out in a long string of convoluted thoughts. "Yeah. Probably good kids. Anyway, Leftstone Students aren't really..." As though to accentuate his point, the sound of glass shattering filled the air. "...the most tactful group there is? If you want meat, save it for the back-alley market, the rabbit there would probably taste a lot better than the fox-rabbit in front of you."
Not that I've tried them myself. Lincoln understood the urge to kill. That was something deeply ingrained in his instincts and refused to let go. However, everything tasted the same. What was the point of killing if it all tastes like sand anyway? That's sand with extra steps! If only reasoning that with everyone's natural instincts actually made anymore sense...
The further that the bowl of meat-and-peas got into his monologue, the more Rio's neutral expression seemed to drop. Further and further, he laid out her life without even knowing her. He sensed her craving, he knew she couldn't control herself, and he laid out her problems all in one, long sentence. Rio's blood began to boil as her blue eyes fixated on him, searching for some kind of weakness she could point out about him.
That was until some glass shattered well off in the distance, down the hallway. It shattered her concentration, and for a moment, she blinked.
Then she looked around, allowing a soft, frustrated snarl to roll up from her throat with the appearance of no one nearby. It was a huge offense to growl at an herbivore... but this guy, he was a half breed. Did it count the same way for him? "What do you know about me? You don't know anything." Her blood was beginning to boil back up again as ideals and scenes began to flash through her head of why she was stuck here again.
With a cool rush of air, Rio adjusted the books in her arms and fluffed some of her curly hair out of her face, over her shoulder. "Normally, I like to meet new students, but I don't like you." She looked up, her blue eyes meeting that of the gaggle of friends standing nearby. "Or your friends."
Then she attempted to take her leave.

OOC Notes: I don't mean to be problematic, but I'm having a hard time reading Lincoln's yellow speech text </3 Could you maybe change it to a darker or different color? Also, it's likely Rio will stop walking if Lincoln says anything else xD Tags: Lincoln Littley

What his rabbit side saw as a threat, his fox side saw as a challenge, his tail swishing a bit before settling down. Lincoln looked straight back into the much older and taller carnivore. If he was feeling more feisty, maybe he would have even growled back...not that his throat was even capable of creating such a sound. "You feel threatened, so you bare your fangs threaten someone you barely know?" God, that surprised me... "Do you think a false threat like 'I usually love to meet new people' is suppose to make me feel bad when I'm here to warn you?" Stop Stop STOP!!! "If you're avoiding us, that might be for the better. People who were rejected by society would hate seeing someone who is being so careless with their position." His leg thumped against the ground a bit, a strange rhythm emanating in his body. Words swirled around in the back of his head before settling into a lump in the back of his throat. Electricity seemed to almost run through his fur, a nervous jolt running up and down the nape of his neck as he spoke.
“Everyone is always so high and mighty until they get kicked off their throne. It’s like with drugs, do you truly believe you’re an exception to the rule? All you have proven is that you are no better than any carnivore at my school. Some cope better than others, but if you’re literally craving to take a bite out of people in public, you’re not coping at all. Don’t lie to yourself or you’re going to eat someone. A life isn’t so insignificant that it can just become your meal.” Not that Lincoln ever experienced that properly. As a being of no desires, he had at no point ever had the urge to eat meat- or vegetable for that matter...but he had lived in his environment to know it can destroy you. If he wanted to be dramatic, maybe he would have walked away, just go back to his group and ignore this person he happened to spot on this little field trip of theirs. But instead he just stood there and watched what she was going to do.
